WESTERLY, R.I. (WJAR) — You could call it Rhode Island's own personal regal wedding!
Sea State local Olivia Culpo and San Francisco 49er's star Christian McCaffrey secured the bunch at the notorious Sea House in Westerly.
Protected by a mass of dark umbrellas, the Cranston local was wearing all white.
"I was expecting more," one guest from New York, told NBC 10.
"I simply wasn't anticipating the umbrellas in general. It resembled watching an umbrella wedding, however it was cool none-the-less."
"We've seen her go from Miss Rhode Island to Miss USA to Miss Universe," said an observer.
"I'm happy that Olivia is regarding her Rhode Island roots," added another.
The function was held at Watch Slope Sanctuary Saturday evening and changed to the lodging greens for the gathering.
"We saw Shane Gillis," shouted one bystander." That was my number one. Had a little discussion, he offered us a go-ahead."
The wedding was nostalgic for one Westerly inhabitant.
"We got hitched in that church not too far off a long time back."
Others just appeared at get a brief look at the activity.
"They were conveying blossoms across the road. They dropped some, so I have blossoms from the wedding you, know," one lady said.
Security fixed as day transformed into night.
"What I saw was that they needed to surrender their telephones at a certain point, so where you could see a couple of pics, things went dull," made sense of diversion correspondent, and radio character Bekah Berger.
